Director Development Program

March 4, 2020 - March 5, 2020

The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, in association with VicWater, are hosting the 2020 Director Development Program, 4 – 5 March 2020 at the Park Hyatt, 1 Parliament Place, Melbourne.

This two-day program provides an opportunity to network, participate in peer-to-peer learning and gain insights into current issues relevant to public entity directors.

Wednesday 4 March 2020 commencing 3pm

3pm: Two concurrent sessions

– for chairpersons – leading high performing boards (facilitated by Claire Noone, Nous Group)

– for new directors and corporate secretaries – governance and the role and responsibilities of a director

5pm: Women in Water Directors Network event for women directors on water corporation boards

6pm: Dinner and ‘Great Debate – Bravery is more important than strategy in a climate of change’.

Thursday 5 March 2020 from 8:30am – 5:00pm

A full day program of key note speakers, panel sessions and workshops including:

  • Claire Noone, Nous Group, master of ceremonies/facilitator.
  • Addresses from John Bradley, Secretary DELWP and Helen Vaughan, Deputy Secretary, Water and Catchments, DELWP.
  • A range of other keynote speakers

Key themes:

    • Treaty – the future
    • Safety leadership and culture
    • Climate change adaptation, recovery and resilience
    • The role of public entities in achieving social outcomes; managing threats and risks; cyber security; jobs, economy and innovation.

This invitation is extended to directors, managing directors, chief executive officers and corporate secretaries of the water corporations, catchment management authorities, VCMC, VEWH, and also chairpersons of DELWP portfolio entities.

The only charge is $80.00 excluding GST for the 3 course dinner and non-alcoholic beverages Wednesday night, invoiced to your organisation.  Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase.

Parking

Parking is available on-site via two options. It is located below the Park Hyatt Melbourne and is owned and managed by Wilson Parking.

Option 1. Guests to pay their own parking at Wilson Parking

Early bird from $20.00 (Entry before between 6am to 10am, exit between 2pm to midnight same day)

Casual parking rates will apply if conditions are not met.

Evening rate $12.00 (Entry after 4pm and exit before 6am the next day)

Casual parking rates will be added if you exit after 6am next day

Casual rates (Mon to Fri) Enter between 9am-4pm $20.00 per hour or part thereof (first 3 hours)

For each additional hour – $20.00 per hour or part thereof (after 4 hours no more charges apply, max $75.00 per day)

Option 2. Discounted Parking Voucher provided by Park Hyatt Melbourne

Discounted vouchers will be available at Park Hyatt reception

Park Hyatt Melbourne is providing discounted vouchers for attendees of the Director Development Program 2020.

$22.00 if you are attending the afternoon session and dinner on Wednesday 4 March 2020.

$22.00 for Thursday 5 March 2020 (all day).

Note: Each guest will pay for their own car park and cannot be charged back to the master account.
